I went for a walk in beautiful Steveston today. On this last day of the summer the morning started off chilly but with the sun shining it has turned out to be simply gorgeous. Garry Point's light and colours were so inspiring that I wished I was a painter (see photo).The smell of fall is in the air, and I breathed in the lovely, fragrant rose hips along the Britannia Shipyard boardwalk. I came upon a group of painters at Britannia, capturing the heritage buildings and the boats on their canvases. People were smiling as they walked, obviously seizing the day, not knowing when the weather will turn, and drinking in every last minute of this gorgeous Steveston summer.
Pieces 2014 scarecrow "Annette Fishacello"Only a few weeks now until the 6th annual Steveston Scarecrow Crawl begins and scarecrows of all shapes, sizes and themes will take over the village! For the full month of October some extremely unique creations will be standing outside storefronts, and hiding inside shop windows, all participants in the Steveston Merchants Association's fabulous event.
At Pieces we really enjoy coming up with our annual "offering" and this year is no exception. We can't let the "crow" out of the bag, but be prepared for something original and fun. October 1st kicks off the Crawl! Plan to come visit and bring your camera so you can pose with your new friends!
