Festival of Trees and Santa Comes to Steveston!

Happy December! It's probably one of the busiest and most action packed months of the year, and it gets off to a great start today, Steveston-style. December 1st (and running the entire month) the Festival of Trees is a festive way to see themed trees decorated by businesses and community groups inside the Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site (see a sneak peek of ours below).

Save the date! This Sunday, December 4th Santa arrives in the village aboard a Vancouver Whale Watch boat. This Steveston tradition is always as a favourite as adoring crowds filled with wide eyed children, parents and other fans wave and cheer as the vessel arrives and Santa works his way towards the Gulf of Georgia Cannery (where you can bring your own camera and snap a shot). Make a full day of it - climb aboard an old-fashioned horse drawn carriage with Christmas tunes playing, put a blanket over your lap, and as the carriage circles the village you can wave to onlookers - it's always great fun! Add in some shopping (at Pieces of course!), dining, strolling with a warm beverage - it all adds up to a merry old time in Steveston village.
